Susan Evans Garlinghouse - Early results
I'm still crunching numbers from Tevis and waiting for pull codes and
rider weights
But it looks like the previous
results are holding true---that thinner horses had a significantly lower
completion rate than horses in better condition. Also that among horses
that pulled, horses in better condition traveled further successfully
before pulling (in other words, thinner horses not only are more likely
to get into trouble, but get into trouble faster). And I'm sorry to say
that thinner horses got into more serious trouble (requiring treatment
and in some cases, hospitalization) than did higher-condition horses.
