Lynne and I were wandering around Robinson Flat (35.7 miles from the start) looking for something interesting to tell you about.
Lynne spotted a family group that seemed to be doing well and having a good time. Mary Fields, who volunteered that she was 55 and a grandmother, was riding Pippy, her birthday present from 5 years ago. When she got Pippy she had never heard of endurance riding, but she was told he was bred for it, so she gave it a try. Tevis has been her dream since then, and they have achieved almost 1,000 miles so far.
They came all the way from Mineral Wells, Texas, sponsored by family members in Georgia.
They told us they had relatives in Texas and Georgia who would be watching the webcast.
